NSW:

NSW COVID-19 update – Thursday 14 October 2021

In the 24-hour reporting period to 8pm last night:

– 91.1% of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine

– 76.5% of people aged 16+ have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine

– 85,133 tests

– 406 new locally acquired cases

– 1 new overseas acquired cases

– 407 new total cases

– 711 people in hospital

– 143 people in ICU

– 6 deaths

Victoria:

Victoria has recorded 2,297 new local COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths as the state edges closer to its vaccination targets.

It is the highest single-day total recorded by an Australian state or territory during the pandemic.

There are now 20,505 active cases of the virus in Victoria, and 125 people have died during the current Delta outbreak.

ACT:

Another COVID-19 death has been recorded in the ACT, the seventh since the most recent outbreak began.

It comes as 46 new locally acquired cases were reported in the ACT on Thursday, the day before Canberra emerges from lockdown.

Health authorities have confirmed a man in his 80s died at an aged care facility in Canberra’s north where he was receiving end-of-life care.
