Leading psychiatrist warns abuse and violence toward women has become normalised

While the #MeToo movement has led to a spike in women disclosing their abuse all around the world and prompted recent allegations of assault in Australian Parliament, there are concerns it has not prompted adequate legal and political change.

Psychiatrist Louise Newman’s book ‘Rape Culture’ explores the implications of living in a society where the prevalent abuse and violence toward women has become normalised.
