NSW:
There are 308 new local cases of COVID-19 in NSW and four deaths, ending a week of daily infection numbers below 300.
The new cases were recorded in the 24 hours to 8pm on Wednesday from 94,661 tests.
The figures mark a jump of 118 infections — a day after Premier Dominic Perrottet warned to expect daily cases and hospitalisations to increase.
There are 302 people in hospital, 64 of them in ICU.
Some 93.7 per cent of people aged 16 and older have had one vaccine dose and 88.7 per cent are fully jabbed.
The premier on Wednesday flagged a likely increase in cases, saying low numbers will not be sustainable as the state opens up, with extensive new freedoms to kick in next week.
Victoria:
Victoria has recorded 1247 new locally-acquired COVID-19 infections and another nine deaths.
The health department confirmed on Thursday the state is managing 17,674 active cases.
There are 660 Victorians in hospital, of whom 114 are in intensive care including 78 on ventilators.
Another 50,180 tests were processed on Wednesday and 16,209 vaccines administered at state-run hubs.
Victorian health authorities have tweaked the state’s vaccination reporting to reflect vaccine uptake in all people aged above 12.
About 81 per cent of people aged above 12 are fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile, another 10,000-strong crowd is expected through the gates of Flemington Racecourse on Thursday for Oaks Day after major events returned over the long weekend.
Under Victoria’s roadmap, almost all restrictions will end for fully-vaccinated people when 90 per cent of those 12 and over are double dosed – a milestone forecast about November 24.
The state recorded 941 new infections on Wednesday, the second consecutive day with numbers below 1000.
ACT:
The ACT has recorded a spike in the number of COVID-19 cases, with 15 new infections reported in the latest figures.
It’s the largest number of daily cases in almost two weeks.
Despite the rise, hospital admissions due to COVID-19 have fallen, down from seven to five in the past day.
There are now two COVID-19 patients in intensive care and one on a ventilator.
Vaccination levels continue to increase, with 93.6 per cent of over 12 year olds in the capital being fully vaccinated.
Testing levels lifted to over 1000, after health authorities expressed concern over low rates since the lockdown ended.
There have now been 1679 cases of COVID-19 in Canberra since the Delta outbreak began in August.
There are 141 active cases in the community.
Queensland:
Queensland has recorded three new cases of COVID-19 in Goondiwindi, with another two people discovered to have been infectious while in the southern border town.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says the three new cases emerged after 5098 tests in the 24 hours to 6.30am on Thursday.
She says one is a known household contact of a case, another has been infectious in the community for five days, and the third is a woman who has had one dose of a vaccine but has been infectious for four days.
