Support for the Albanese government has slipped amid the cost-of-living crisis, with the Coalition gaining ground on primary votes according to a poll conducted for\u00a0The Australian<\/em>\u00a0and published in the paper on Monday.<\/p>\n The poll shows Labor\u2019s primary vote had decreased by one point to 32 per cent while the Coalition\u2019s had fallen by one to 39 since July 21.<\/p>\n The primary vote for minor parties and independents was up one point to 11 per cent, with the Greens\u2019 primary vote falling one point to 12 per cent.<\/p>\n Support for One Nation was steady at 6 per cent.<\/p>\n The survey registered a fall in the popularity of both Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Opposition Leader Peter Dutton.<\/p>\n Voter satisfaction for Albanese dropped one point to 43 per cent while satisfaction with Dutton fell one point to 40 per cent.<\/p>\n The bump is not enough to put the Coalition in a winning position.<\/p>\n The next federal election is due by May 2025.<\/p>\n The survey of 1266 voters was conducted online between August 5 and August 9.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Labor and the Coalition are level at 50-50 on a two-party-preferred basis, the latest polling shows, as parliament resumes following the winter break.
